Celebrations disrupted because of the severe weather. 

 Women’s World Day of Prayer was celebrated all over the world on Friday 2nd of March. The service was prepared by women of Suriname and the theme of the service was “All God’s Creation is Very Good!”

However, due to the weather conditions here on this day many of the services had to be cancelled for safety reasons. God’s Creation looked very beautiful dressed in white, but felt unsafe under foot.

Locally the services planned for St John the Baptist’s church in Tilbury and the service at Lodge Lane Methodist Church, Grays were both cancelled.
The services in Horndon-on-the-Hill and at the Salvation Army in Grays went ahead. It was lovely that some people dared to brave the elements and come. We learnt about the country of Suriname and were encouraged to think about how we can help protect the world. We hope to reschedule the service for another day when weather has improved.
